🌸!! श्री नवनाथ भक्तिसार अध्याय ३७ - नागनाथास दत्ताचें दर्शन, नागनाथ व मच्छिंद्रनाथ यांचे भेट !!🌸
वटसिद्ध नागनाथ कोल्हापुरास आल्यानंतर ग्रामभोजनाच्या मिषानें दत्तात्रेयाचें दर्शन होईल; असा विचार करुण त्यानें समानाच्या व द्रव्याच्या राशी तयार केल्या. पुजार्यास दाखविल्या आणि राजापासुन रंकापर्यंत व ब्राह्मणापासुन अत्यंजापर्यंत सर्वास दोन्ही वेळचें सहकुंटूंब, सहपरिवार, पाहूण्यासुद्धां भोजनाचें आमंत्रण दिले. गांवांत स्वयंपाकासाठीं कोणी चूल पेटवू नये, सकाळीं व मध्यल्या वेळींही भूक लागली तर तिकडेच फराळाचा बेत ठेविला असल्याचें आमंत्रणांत सुचविलें होते. निरनिराळ्या जातींत भ्रष्टाकार होऊं नये म्हणुन बंदोबस्त ठेवुन कार्याची सुरुवात झाली. यामुळें गांवांत कोणीच स्वयंपाकाकरितां चूल पेटविली नाहीं. अन्न घरीं घेऊन जाण्यादेखील मनाई नव्हती. कोरडं किंवा शिजलेलें अन्न, जसें हवें असेल तसें व लागेल तितकें घेऊन जाण्याची मुभा होती. यामुळें गांवांत ज्याच्या त्याच्या घरी सिद्ध अन्न भरलें होतें. दिव्या लावण्यासाठीं मात्र लोकांनी विस्तवाची गरज पडे. हा समाराधनेचा समारंभ एकसारखा महिनाभर चालला होता.
त्यामुळें पहिल्याच दिवशीं दत्तात्रेयास भिक्षेची मारामार पडली. त्या दिवशीं तो कुत्सित रूप घेऊन घरोघर भिक्षा मागत होता. तो तेथें जाई तेथें लोक त्यास म्हणत कीं, अरे भीक कां मागतोस ? आज गांवात मोठें प्रयोजन आहे तिकडे जा, चांगलें चांगले जेवयास मिळेल. तूं तरी एक वेडा दिसतोस. उतम उत्तम पक्वान्नांचें भोजन सोडून कदान्नाकरितां गांवांत कां भटकतोस ? आम्हां सर्वांना जेवावयास जावयाचें आहे, तुझ्यासाठीं स्वयंपाक करावयास कोण बसतो ?
मग प्रयोजनाचा कसा काय बेतबात आहे तो स्वतः जाऊन पाहण्याचा दत्तात्रेयाचा विचार ठरला. त्यानें तिकडे जाऊन संपूर्ण पाकनिष्पत्ति कशी काय होते हें नीट लक्षांत आणिलें सिद्धिच्या योगानें अन्नाच्या राशी झाल्या, हें तो पक्केपणीं समजला. मग ही मोठी समाराधना येथें कोण घालीत आहे ह्याची दत्तात्रेयानं विचारपूस केली. तेव्हां वटसिद्ध नागनाथाचें नांव त्यास लोकांनीं सांगितले. आपण वीस वर्षापूर्वी ज्यास सिद्धि दिली तो हा असुन आपल्या दर्शनाच्याच इच्छेनें त्यानें या गांवीं येऊन हें संतर्पण करण्याचें सुरु केले, असें दत्तात्रेयाच्या लक्षांत आलें. त्यानें त्या दिवशीं उपवास केला. तो तेथून तसाच परत जाऊं लागला असतां लोकांनी त्यास पुष्कळ आग्रहा केला. पण तें सिद्धीचें अन्न असल्यामुळें न जेवतां तसाच तेथून निघून गेला. तो दररोज गांवांत येऊन सुकी भिक्षा मागे. कोणी जास्त चौकशी करुन विचारिलें तर मी भिक्षेच्या अन्नाशिवाय अन्नसेवन करीत नाहीं, असें सांगे व काशीस जाऊन भोजन करी. याप्रमाणें एक महिना लोटला.
नागनाथानें विचार केला कीं, अजुन स्वामींचें दर्शन होत नाहीं हें काय ? मग त्यानें ग्रामस्थ मंडळींस विचारिलें कीं, गांवांत भिक्षा मागणारा कोणी अथीत येत असतो काय ? त्यावर लोकांनी सांगितलं कीं, एकजण नियमितपणें येतो; परंतु त्याच्या भिक्षान्न सेवन करण्याचा नियम असल्यामुळें तो तुमचें अन्न घेत नाही. गांवांत इतर शिजलेलें अन्न त्यास मिळत नाहीं म्हणून कोरान्न मागतो. मग भिक्षेकरी पुनः आल्यास मला सांगावें म्हणजें मीं स्वतः जाऊन त्याची विनवणी करीन व त्यास आणुन भोजन घालीन, असें नाथानें त्या लोकांना सांगुन ठेविलें त्या वेळीं त्यांना अशीहि सूचना केली होती कीं, त्या भिक्षा मागणार्याला कोरडी भिक्षा घालूं नये. येथल्याच अन्नाची त्यास सांगुन सवरून भिक्षा घालावी व ती जर त्यानें न घेतली तर मला लागलेंच कळवावें. असें सांगून त्यांस सिद्धिचें पुष्कळ अन्न दिलें.
पुढें दत्तात्रेय भिक्षेस आला असतां हें नाथाकडचं अन्न असें बोलून लोक भिक्षा घालूं लागले. ती तो घेईना. मग आपापल्या घरची कोरडी भिक्षा घालूं लागले. पण संशयावरून तीहि तो घेईना. इतक्यांत कोणी जाऊन ही गोष्ट नाथास कळविली. त्या सरसा तो लगबगीनें तेथें आला. त्यास लोकांनी लांबूनच तो भिक्षेकरी दाखविला. त्याबरोबर नाथानें त्याच्याजवळ जाऊन हात जोडून पायांवर मस्तक ठेविलें. नंतर बहुत दिवसांत माझा समाचार न घेतल्यामुळें मी अनाथ होऊन उघड्यावर पडलो आहें. आतां मजवर कृपा करावी, अशी स्तुति केली. त्याची तिव्र भक्ति पाहून दत्तात्रेयानें त्यास उठवून हृदयीं धरिलें व तोंडावरुन हात फिरविला. तसेंच त्याच्या डोळ्यांतले अश्रु पुसलें व त्यास एकीकडे नेऊन आपला वरदहस्त त्याच्या मस्तकावर ठेवून कानांत मंत्र सांगितला. ती आत्मखून समजतांच तो ब्रह्मापरायण झाला व त्याच्या अज्ञानाचा समुळ नाश झाला. दत्ताचें स्वरूप पाहातांच त्यास अनुपम आनंद झाल. त्या समयीं तो दत्तात्रेयाच्या पायां पडला. त्यास स्वामीनें मांडीवर बसविलें व त्याची पूर्वजन्मकथा सांगितली व तुं ऐरहोत्र नारायाणाचा अवतार आहेस, ह्यामुळें मी तुला सिद्धि दिली होती, असेंहि बोलून दाखविलें. तुही भेट घेण्याचें फार दिवस मनांत होतें, पण प्रारब्धानुसार तो योग घडुन आला, असें दत्तात्रेयानें सांगितलें.
मग ते उभयंता तेथून काशीस निघाले. जातांना दत्तानें यानमंत्रानें भस्म मंत्रुन नाथाच्या कपाळीं लाविलें व ते एका निमिषांत काशीस गेले. तेथें नित्यनेम उरकून क्षणांमध्यें ते बदरीकाश्रमास गेले व शिवालयांत जाऊन दत्तानें उमाकांताची भेट घेतली. उभयतांच्या भेटी झाल्यानंतर समागमें दुसरा कोण आणिला आहे, असें शंकरानें दत्तास विचारलें. तेव्हा दत्तानें हा नागनाथ ऐरहोत्र नारायणाचा अवतार आहे, असें कळविल्यानंतर शंकरानें त्यास नागपंथाची दीक्षा देण्याची सुचना केली, ती लागलीच दत्तानें कबूल केली. मग नागनाथासह दत्तात्रेय तेथें सहा महिनें राहिले. तितक्या अवकाशांत नाथांस सर्व विद्यांत व चौसष्ट कलांत निपुण केलें. मग नागाश्वार्त्थी जाऊन सर्व साधने सिद्धि करून घेतल्यावर दत्तानें त्यास पुनः बदरिकाश्रमास नेऊन तपश्चर्येस बसविलें व नाथदीक्षा दीली. तेथें त्यानें बारा वर्षें तपश्चर्या केली. त्यास संपूर्ण देवांनीं अनेक वर दिलें नंतर त्यानें मावंदे करुन देव, ऋषि आदिकरून सर्वांस संतुष्ट केलें. नंतर सर्व आपपल्या स्थानीं गेले. पुढें दत्तात्रेयानें नाथास तीर्थयात्रेस जाण्याची आज्ञा केली. त्यानुसार दत्ताच्या पायां पडून नागनाथ तीर्थयात्रा करावयास निघाला व दत्तात्रेय निरिनारपर्वतावर गेला.
नागनाथ तीर्थयात्रा करीत बालेघाटास गेला. तेथें अरण्यांत राहिला असतां गांवोगांवचे लोक त्याच्या दर्शनास येऊं लागले. त्यांनीं त्यास तेथें राहण्याचा आग्रह केला. व त्याच्याजवळ पुष्कळ लोक येऊन राहूं लागले. त्या गांवाचें नांव वडगाव असें ठेविलें. पुढें एकें दिवशीं मच्छिंद्रनाथ तीर्थयात्रा करीत असतां त्या गांवात आले. तेथे नागनाथाची कीर्ति त्याच्या ऐकण्यांत आली. मग मच्छिंद्रनाथ नागनाथाच्या दर्शनास गेला असतां दरवाजांतुन आंत जातांना दाराशीं असलेल्या शिष्यांनी त्यास हरकत करुन आंत जांताना मनाई केली. ते म्हणाले, नाथबाबा ! पुढें जाऊं नका. आम्ही नागनाथास कळवून मग तुम्हांस दर्शनास नेऊं . त्याच्या परवानगीवांचून आंत जाण्याचि मनाई आहे. शिष्याचें हें भाषण मच्छिंद्रनाथानें ऐकताच त्यास मोठा क्रोध आला. देवाच्या किंवा साधुच्या दर्शानास जाण्याची कोणाचीही आडकाठी नसावी, अशी पद्धत असतां येथें हा सर्व दांभिक प्रकार दिसतो, असें मनांत आणुन मच्छिंद्रनाथानें त्या शिष्यांस तांडण केलें. तें पाहून नागनाथाचे दुसरे सातशें शिष्य धांवले. परंतु त्या सर्वांना त्यांनीं स्पर्शास्त्राच्या योगानें जमिनीस खिळवुन टाकिले. व तो एकेकाच्या थोबाड्यांत मारूं लागला. तेव्हां त्यांनीं रडुन ओरडुन आकांत केला.
मठामध्यें नागनाथ ध्यानस्थ बसला होता.तो ही ओरड ऐकून देहावर आला.ध्यानंत घोटाळा झाल्यानें नागनाथास राग आला; त्यानें शिष्यांची ही अवस्था समक्ष पाहिली व मच्छिंद्रनाथासहिं त्यांच्या थोबाडांत मारतांना पाहिलें.
तेव्हां त्यानें प्रथम गरुडबंधनविद्या जपून स्थर्गी गरुडाचें बंधन केलें व नंतर विभक्तास्त्र जपून आपले शिष्य मुक्त केले. ते मुक्त होतांच नागनाथाच्या पाठीशीं जाऊन उभे राहिले. त्या सर्वांना चूर्ण करण्याचा मच्छिंद्रनाथाच्या विचार करुन पर्वतास्त्राची योजना केली तेव्हां आपल्या अंगावर विशाल पर्वत येत आहे, असें पाहून नागनाथानें वज्रास्त्राचा जप करितांच इंद्रांनें वज्र सोडून दिलें. तेव्हां तो पर्वत चूर्ण झाला अशा रीतींने ते उभयतां एकमेकांचा पाडाव करण्याकरितां मोठ्या शौर्यानें लढत होते. शेवटीं नागनाथानें सर्पास्त्र पेरून मोठमोठाले सर्प उप्तन्न केले. ते येऊन मच्छिंद्रनाथास दंश करुं लागले. तेव्हां मच्छिंद्रनाथानें गरुडास्त्राची योजना केली, परंतु नागनाथानें पूर्वीच गुरुडास्त्रानें गरुडास बांधून टाकिल्यामुळें मच्छिंद्रनाथास गरुडास्त्राचा प्रयोग चालेनास झाला. सर्पानीं मच्छिंद्रनाथास फारच इजा केली, तेणेंकरून तो मरणोन्मुख झाला. त्यानें त्या वेळी गुरुचें स्मरण केलें की, देवा दत्तात्रेया ! या वेळेस विलंब न करता धाव.
मच्छिंद्रनाथानें दत्तात्रेयाचें नांव घेतल्याचें पाहून नागनाथं संशयांत पडला. आपल्या गुरुचें स्मरण करित असल्यामुळें हां कोण व कोणाचा शिष्य ह्याचा शोध करण्याकरितां नागनाथ मच्छिंद्रनाथाच्या जवळ गेला आणि त्यास विचारूं लागला. तेव्हां ' आदेश ' करुन मच्छिंद्रनाथानें आपलें नांव सांगुन म्हटलें, माझा गुरु दत्तात्रेय, त्याच्या मी शिष्य आहे. माझ्याजवळ जालंदर, नंतर भर्तृहरी, त्याच्यामागुन रेवण. या नाथपथांत प्रथमच मीच आहे. म्हणुन मी दत्तात्रेयाचा वडील मुलगा आहे. अशी मच्छिंद्रनथानें आपली हकिकत सांगितली. ती ऐकून नागनाथास कळवळा आला. त्यानें लागलेंच गरुडांचे बंधन सोडुन गरुडाचा जप केला तेव्हां गरुड खालीं उतरला व सर्प भयभीत होऊन व विष शोधून अदृश्य झाले. गरुडाचें काम होतांच तो दोघां नाथांस नमस्कार करुन स्वर्गास गेला. नंतर नागनाथ मच्छिंद्रनाथाच्या पायां पडला व म्हणाला, वडील बधु पित्यासमान होय, म्हणुन तुम्ही मला गुरुच्या ठिकाणी आहांत. मग त्यास तो आपल्या मठांत घेऊन गेला व एक महिना आपल्याजवळ ठेवून घेतलें.
एके दिवशीं मच्छिंद्रनाथानें नागनाथास विचारलें कीं, तूं दाराशीं सेवक ठेवुन लोकांना आंत जाण्यास प्रतिबंध करतोस ह्यातील हेतु काय, तो मला सांग. भाविक लोक तुझ्या दर्शनास येतात. तुझ्या शिष्यांनी त्यांना जाऊं दिलें नाहीं म्हणजे त्यांना परत जावें लागतें. आपला दोघांचा तंटा होण्याचें मुळ कारण हेंच. हें ऐकून नागनाथानें आपला हेतु असा सांगितला कीं, मी निरंतर ध्यानस्थ असतो व लोक आल्यानें धानभंग होतो. म्हणुन दाराशीं रक्षक ठेविले. त्यावर मच्छिंद्रनाथानें त्यास सांगितलें कीं असें करणें आपणास योग्य नाहीं. लोक पावन व्हावयास आपल्या कडे येतात. व ते दारापासुन मागें जातात. तरी आतांपासुन मुक्तद्वार ठेव. असें सांगुन मच्छिंद्रनाथ तीर्थयात्रेस गेले.
इकडे दाराशीं मनाई नसल्यामुळें नागनाथाच्या दर्शनास लोकांची गर्दी होऊं लागली. त्या नाथाच्या शिष्यांतच गुलसंत म्हणुन एक शिष्य होता. त्यांची स्त्री मठांत मृत्यु पावली; तिला नाथानें उठविलें. हा बोभाटा झाला. मग कोणी मेलें म्हणजे प्रेत मठांत नेत व नागनाथ त्यास जिवंत करुण घरीं पाठवुन देई; यामुळें यमधर्म संकटांत पडला. त्यानें हें वर्तमान ब्रह्मदेवास कळविलें, मग ब्रह्मदेव स्वतः वडवाळेस येऊन त्यानें नाथाचा स्तव करून तें अद्भुत कर्म करण्याचें बंद करविलें.
