मारुतीचे असे भाषण ऐकुन मच्छिंद्रनाथाने सांगितले की, मीहि ऊर्ध्वरेताच आहे; म्हणून मला हे कार्य सांगून काय उपयोग आहे? माझ्या ब्रह्मचर्याचा मात्र अशाने समूळ नाश होईल व जगात दुर्लौकिक होईल; म्हणून हे कुकर्म मला सांगू नये. तशात स्त्रीसंग हे अपकीर्तीचे भांडार होय; म्हणून ही गोष्ट करावी असे माझ्या मनात येत नाही.

अशा प्रकारचे मच्छिंद्रनाथाचे भाषण ऐकून मारुतीने त्यास सांगितले की, ही अनादिकालापासून रहाटी चालत आली आहे. म्हणून भोग भोगल्याचा दोष नाही. जसे नव्याण्णव मारुती तसेच नव्याण्णव मच्छिंद्रनाथ असा क्रम चालत आला आहे. तुझ्या पोटी मीननाथ म्हणून पुत्र होईल. त्याची सूर्यासारखी कीर्ति प्रगट होईल असे मारुतीने त्यास सांगून त्याचे मन वळवून घेतले. मग मारुतीच्या म्हणण्यास मान देऊन मच्छिंद्रनाथ स्त्रीराज्यात जाण्यास कबूल झाला व एकमेकांस नमस्कार करून ते दोघेजण मार्गस्थ झाले.
